Excellent mic. Using for foley and outdoor recording. Initially Bajaao had sent me a cheap mic by mistake. But they quickly responded and replaced it. So can't complain.
I initally purchased the NTG-2 and did an audio test with a friend who owns the NTG-3. We set up both mics on a boom and recorded to Tascams. Did everything as close as possible including having the same length of cables. The gain was so much better on the NTG-3 that I decided to return the NTG-2 and pay almost 3 times as much for the NTG-3. The aluminum case is way cool, too. The back rejection of this mic is pretty amazing. It almost totally eliminated the ice cream truck down the street. Good thing because I was getting ready to shoot the dude. So, this mic is pretty good at eliminating violence, too.
