Utility tool but caution for connecting it to vocal FX devices

(3.5 STAR RATING)

Hi guys,
So for a long time, I've been trying my best to keep my home recording setup less cluttered with more wireless options. My first attempt with that was the NUX Wireless guitar cable adaptor (BR5C) ......it did its job well as most of the time I was connecting the guitar to my audio interface and adding effects through the virtual amps etc. I had a great time with it.

This led to me to having expectations of a wireless mic setup. Enter the NUX B3. I was really kicked about this and waited almost a year to have it appear on bajaao.com.

Now here's the plot twist: I've been using an external device for real-time vocal fx -> The Korg KP3 .....the first thing that didn't work out was that the NUX inputs and output are XLR while the KP3 only accepts TRS (guitar cable style) inputs) .....NUX B3 did provide a bridge adapter which converts XLR to TRS/3.5mm.....but the resulting quality (when connected to the KP3) was very very bad...so much hum and other disturbance.....i got better results when i connected it directly to an XLR input on my interface without FX......another thing i was warned about on several forums is to nor operate it near a wifi router owing to the clashing 2.4 GHZ frequency.

so all in all....it does serve its utility of wireless audio/vocal capabilities over a considerable distance (Clean unprocessed signa).......the real-time vocal fx quality is something i don't have sweet things to say about just yet......may be in the near future I'd consider purchasing a dedicated vocal fx processor from TC Helicon and see if it has an XLR input and test it.....and then if the vocals work out well(with fx output) , ill update this review. *Fingers Crossed* that I'd upgrade my rating soon

Summary: You just want a replacement for a long cluttered mic cable, this does a great job. Its definitely a value add for your home studio and if you're a DIY musician who plays in small gigs etc. this is definitely a handy tool
