Been looking for an acoustic guitar for a while now specifically for some acoustic lead playing. When the Cort Gold series caught my eye I was really impressed with the features it had to offer. A solid wood construction, Binding, Inlays, Fishman Electronics, etc. the guitar ticked all the right boxes.
Thanks to my sales manager Vineet Nair, the order was placed and he made sure everything went smoothly. Received the guitar well packed.
The finish is lovely and the instrument feels great to play. The neck carve is comfortable in the hands, the frets feel good.
The Fishman electronics work wonderfully.
As I picked it up and played for the first time (unplugged) it was obvious straight away that this OM style guitar was inherently a lot brighter as compared to my Sire A4 DS (Dreadnought), Strumming with a pick brought out that brightness quite strongly however as I tried fingerstyle and some lead lines (with a pick) the brightness found its purpose just as I wished. I was on the look out for an acoustic guitar for lead type playing and it perfectly fulfills my requirement.
Amplified, when switching between lead/fingerstyle playing to strumming with a pick it did seem necessary to dial out the brightness on the Fishman system controls to avoid the guitar sound cutting out harshly.
The binding around the fingerboard could have been finished slightly better.
The guitar comes with a semi hard gig bag which is of good quality.
Overall, I'm happy with the look, feel and electronics, this guitar fits my requirement perfectly !
The guitar is an absolute pleasure with its stupendous playability. But the experience was marred by the shipping. Standard shipping was free on offer, but was advised to opt for premium shipping at Rs 1800 odd for the added protective packing with extra bubble wrapping. Now I already have had an experience of being delivered a cracked guitar due to ordinary shipping. So I paid for the premium option. But it arrived without the protective wrapping, in the gig bag and box that comes with the paid-for product. There was only the Bajaao outer carton extra which surely doesn't cost 1800. In short, I was made to pay the premium price for the free standard shipping offered. I had come across similar reviews online, but experiencing first hand will make me think twice about buying high end products from here. So a week back I bought an expensive pickup for the guitar from John's Music. These little things are how you lose returning customers. When the time comes to upgrade to Martin or Taylor one day, I'd naturally trust dealers with integrity when purchasing a premium high end guitar.
