The mic is a plug and go type. Good for semi-professionals who are looking for something in a lower range. In the situation with heavy wind try to shield the back side of the mic with an additional deadcat open type. The rear jack can become problematic in really strong wind. Otherwise it is really nice both for outdoor and indoor use. Do buy a RODE deadcat with this product.
