I used to own a Squier Strat for years.. While it's basically a decent guitar, the Alnico III pickups sounded very mediocre. I recently tried a friends mexican Strat HSS and I loved the sound of it! I wanted a burst finish of this, but they were out-of-stock for the moment and while looking at the other colour options I was struck by this Lake Placid Blue color and trust me the color in the flesh is far more beautiful then any photo or video can do justice. Overall its great! Fit, finish, playability and action...The only adjustments I had to do the pickup heights, but that took barely 2 minutes.My favorite thing about this guitar is its design and comfort. It isn't not one of those ultra fast shredders- but It is damn easy to play- it just fits so well to your hand and body. The whammy is ok... I barely use mine, so if whammy is very imp to you, this probably isn't the best one, but is more than sufficient when needed.
