I've owned the novation impulse 61 for over 3 years now, and i've gotta say that the semi weighted keys on them are a very decent bunch, they feel much more natural than the keys on the mid ranged yamaha and roland workstations. And the setups that you can tweak on all the different controls are impressive. However, over the last year, i've encountered some constant issues with the drum pads, faders and the mod wheel, which keeps triggering and sending random MIDI information to my DAW. This renders my drumpads virtually useless (because they keep triggering randomly if i have a drum plugin loaded), so i've completely turned them off. The faders also keep randomly changing the volume levels on my DAW's mixer and is pretty useless now. Just the inability to use these two components, takes almost half the functionality from the midi controller away. Now, i might be quiet unlucky to have received a bad piece, but this is extremely disappointing from a brand like novation, and that too for one of the higher end midi controllers on the market.
