Low cost but excellent. Making my life easier than before.
Hooked this up, did the update, started working with it immediately. Love this for track automation! Makes my workflow much faster. I find it hard to understand the negative reviews from the "supposed" professionals on here. I think maybe you need to be smarter than a 5th grader to operate it. This is awesome easy to use, durable product! Inexpensive ! Motorized! I use it in conjunction with Studio One V.2, a Studio Live 16.4.2 Mixer. I have had zero problems in over 2 years with this product. I hooked it up via USB. The only downside I see is that it needs more than one fader.
Was totally excited to have gotten this up and running with Presonus Studio One. I wanted to go beyond just using my mouse for all recording functions.Pros: This is a killer no-nonsense controller for enhanced music productivity. All advertised items work exactly as listed. 100mm fader is silky smooth. Backlit buttons are a really nice touch for dimly lit studios. Record arming, play, mute, etc all light up when engaged. Channel status Indicator lights change with each channel change. Super great buy for a small footprint recording controller. You can get a lot more done beyond your current mouse driven functionality with this controller. Much of what is on the controller can be done on the qwerty keyboard however, unless you have remembered the keystrokes or have a DAW template or dedicated qwerty keyboard to control your DAW, the FaderPort will definitely speed things up especially if you have the controller sitting near or atop your MIDI controller keyboard. Tracking vocals/live audio and MIDI tracks with this controller is a joy.Cons: Transport and function buttons don't have the typical console button feel i.e. Yamaha AW4416 or some older Tascam products. Buttons hard click like a very heavy mouse button. These I suppose are taste gripes versus actual functionality cons.
