Prince pulled out of the show, which celebrated Tidal reaching one million subscribers

Jay-Z hosted a charity concert in New York on Tuesday night (October 20) in celebration of his music streaming service Tidal reaching one million subscribers.

The gig, which was streamed live on Tidal, saw Jay Z performing with Rick Ross, Lil Wayne and Beyonce, while Beyonce also performed 'Feeling Myself' with Nicki Minaj. Watch highlights of those performances beneath.

Other artists performing on the night included TI, Meek Mill, Damian Marley, country singer Thomas Rhett, French band Indochine, plus Nick Jonas, Alessia Cara and Justine Skye. At the concert, it was announced that Marley has become one of Tidal's artist-owners.

Prince, who was originally billed for the concert, is thought to have pulled out of the show. No reason has been given for his absence.

Meanwhile, Jay Z appeared to forget that he owned Tidal when he testified in court during a copyright trial last week.

During the 'Big Pimpin'' trial Jay Z began to list all the business ventures he is involved in, but failed to remember Tidal, which has performed relatively poorly since its launch earlier this year.

Jay Z is quoted as saying: "I make music, I'm a rapper, I’ve got a clothing line, I run a label, a media label called Roc Nation, with a sports agency, music publishing and management. Restaurants and nightclubs ... I think that about covers it."

When his attorney reminded him of Tidal's existence, he responded: "Yeah, yeah. Forgot about that".
