Stands true on its description. If you want some dirty deafening distortion without too many complicated controls, this is the pedal for you. The distortion is heavy by default and the only thing you can control is the bass, mid and treble. Since my playing is limited to Death Metal, this pedal suits me. For riffing, you probably won't need anything else anywhere. However, if you play occasional solos, you will need a delay, chorus and a noise gate along with this. (Noise gate may be essential if you're turning up the volume knob by a fair amount)
