Breedlove Pursuit Exotic - Sitka Spruce-Myrtlewood

Top - Solid Sitka Spruce
Back - Not solid, advertised as "layered", but whatever it is, it looks as good as solid wood, not plywood, when viewed through the soudhole.
Sides - probably just like back, but difficult to view
Strings - good quality D Addario EXP, but the guage is thick at 12-53 so tension is high
Bridge - Ebony
All of top, back, side, bridge woods seem of excellent quality, but the fingerboard and neck woods don't seem that good. Fingerboard is advertised as ebony just like the bridge, however looks of inferior quality than the bridge. The bridge is really dark, dense looking wood, not so the fingerboard. Neck is advertised as some kind of mahogany. Whichever kind it is, it doesn't look that good
The sound is naturally good coming from a solid top guitar, and with very good wood back. The strings have a kind of rumble and sustain that can come only from a solid wood guitar. However, myrtlewood doesn't seem to produce as vibrant sounds as the commonest back wood of mahogany. Also, myetlewood seems to respond better to bass strngs than the top end. I have PRS AXM20E. Breedlove has similar quality front but better quality back. The back of AXM20E looks like plywood, but maybe that's because it's mahogany. Overall, I like the build, sustain, resonance, and rumble of breedlove, but I prefer the sound on AXM20E. Breedlove is also good, but since its sound is not that vibrant, PRS is especially better when fingerprinting.
The factory setup and action was pathetically high. I lowered by filing the nut and grinding the saddle. The fretwork and neck is excellent with no disfiguration which allows for low action. But, the angle, wrt the body, at which the neck is set is too low. Ideally, it should be such that the line of sight from nut to end of fretboard, when extrapolated should be incident at the top of the bridge, but here it reaches at just about the center of the bridge. As a result, the saddle had to be ground so low for lowering the action that it is barely above the bridge.
Tuning pegs are very tight, would have liked them to be much lighter.
The electronics are all on the inside, so no incisions have to be made in the sides for equalizer etc. The system just has one volume know inside soundhole, not equalizer, no tone knobs etc.
The pinless bridge is awesome.

This is a beautiful guitar. Great sound Stunning for the price. The sound is not too warm and not too bright. Right about in the middle, where I like it. Am happy for this product.

Awesome

Very balanced instrument, lots of tone and projection. The myrtlewood back and sides really provides a well balanced sound, not too forward or recessed, just right. In my opinion, it goes well with the solid spruce top. All in all, and excellent guitar.
