Need advice on pickups
Need advice on pickups
I've been thinking of getting new pickups installed on my Greg Bennett AV-3 LH.. I needed advice on which pickup would sound best on that kind of mahogany-body Les Paul type guitar.
I don't play a lot of heavy stuff, so my current choices for the bridge are medium output pickups like the Seymour Duncan Custom 5 (SH-14) or DiMarzio Norton.
Speaking of which, why is the range for Seymour Duncan humbuckers so sparse at Bajaao.com??
Bajaao why u no sell Seymour Duncan Alnico-2 Pros, or the Slash signature pickups, or Dimarzio PAFs??
The problem with the stock pickups is, they sound too... nasal. That's it, that's the best word to describe them (except perhaps "crap").

Stock pickups on the Greg Bennett AV-3 leave a lot to be desired. The clean sound is great, actually, but with gain/distortion they suddenly sound thin, squeaky, and ball-less.
We don't sell Seymour Duncan except on special order because there's no availability in India. But we have atleast 30 different Dimarzio pickups available and can get you any model on request, even Duncan
Even if you don't play metal, there's no harm in going in for a high-output pickup, because you get a clean strong signal, and you can control the drive from your volume pot on the fly, giving you lots of dynamics. Check out the Breed pickup...really nice for a Les Paul bridge!1 vote by axdp -
