Busted! What's really behind the Wall of Sound on big concert stages...

One of the long-standing visual attractions of legendary hard rock/metal concerts are the towering amplifier/speaker stacks, that create a wall of sound. Even as a kid, I watched KISS concerts and wondered how the fuck those guys weren't deaf, and dwelled upon the practical difficulties of connecting one guitar to thirty Marshall amp stacks in parallel. I was wise beyond my years, as was proved when I saw this picture of Immortal.
GOOD: Immortal's guitar player knows his shit. ENGL > Marshall :P
BAD: Most international metal concerts feature fake amp/stack walls. Metal is all about being real, but appearances sell and I guess I don't blame the bands and organizers. In fact, top brands like Marshall specially manufacture fake units to create walls for major concerts, and even pay money to concert organizers to put up these walls, because its an awesome advertising/branding opportunity.
UGLY: Indian metal concerts don't even have fake walls of sound. Bands are lucky if they get a half-stack :D
