I am not a long time customer (started only couple of months back) but I hereby take this opportunity to thank the entire team for having this wonderful website full of instruments which are not always available at the music store next door. I bought this only because I've used lots of Roland products before and I trust the brand completely. I picked it over similar priced USB souncards because this supported USB 2.0! rnrnI got mine two weeks ago, and I got it up and running within 20 minutes. Had some issues with latency, until I realized I had to change device settings and use the ASIO driver. After that eveything was good. I use this to run my guitar through Guitar Rig 5, and I SWEAR my guitar sounds as good as when its plugged into a real amp.rnrnThe soundcard has a special "Hi-Z" input switch for guitars, and turning the switch on seems to make the guitar sound a lot more ballsy and "real". I can't really find any latency at all while playing. No extra noise to the preamps even when I turn the gain up. The auto-gain feature is useful for setting gain to a clip-free level.rnrnIt's a pretty light unit and doesn't feel too solid, but I guess all sound cards are built from plastic these days. In terms of robustness, I know first-hand that Roland products don't go bust, so I'm counting on this one lasting out the days :) rn

I bought this product from Bajaao about two months ago. Bajaao's service was good. I received the product within the stipulated time and the packaging was done well.rnrnPros: rnrnThe Roland UA55 is an excellent audio interface for it's price. I use it mainly to record guitar(direct in) and vocals(mic). The pre amps in this device make it stand apart from other audio interfaces. It doesn't cut out frequencies to leave your recording sounding "flat". There isn't much noise either and it has a nice warm sound. rnrnThe drivers are stable and they have never flaked out on me. I've always had trouble with my old interface. I'd have to unplug the interface and plug it in again every half an hour to get it to run and had issues with pops and crackles being recorded. Never had any such problems with this. It's been so reliable I believe I could use this live to process my guitars and vocals. Sturdy build. Feels solid. It can take some beating. rnrnCons:rnrnThere are some crackles and pops during playback sometimes. But they aren't common enough to really bother me and I find them easy to ignore.rn_____________________________rnrnI did a lot of research before buying this product. It's better than other popular interfaces in this price range. These include products like MAudio Fast track series, Behringer's interfaces and Line 6 Pod UX2. rnrnIf you're looking for something cheaper than this but of excellent quality, go for Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. It has excellent preamps as well and I've read some great reviews about it. You can't go wrong with that interface either. rnrnIf you're looking for perfection, you might want to go for something more expensive. I'm not a professional in this field though I do have some experience recording and mixing tracks. For my purposes, this suits very well and I can see myself using it for years to come. This is an amazing device for the price. I won't be replacing it anytime soon.rnrnI hope this review helped you. Do look into other reviews too.
