Been a few months since i bought this guitar (Not from Bajaao though..it wasnt in stock at that time)rnrnBody: very slim,very light..Looks beautiful..much better than the crappy pictures.rnrnThe tone is pretty heavy and chunky even with the stock pickups because of the good quality Mahogany in the body..turned up the bass on my GT10 processor and it gave me some unbelievably strong power chords.I believe its the mahogany which is known to have a bigger lower end than basswood, which my older RG is made of. rnrnNo complaints with this guitar, except that its a little difficult to unplug my cable sometimes because of the way the output jack is positioned..but frankly it doesn't matter that much.rnrnNeck: wizard 3 neck...2mm wider at the 24th fret than the wizard 2, which is not a noticeable difference at all,and its a little rounder..I feel its more comfortable than the Wizard 2 for quick shred passages.rnMy verdict: better than the wizard 2.rnits not a big fat neck, its just as thin as the wizard 2 but its just shaped a little different and I am just loving it.rnrnThe lack of inlays is a little confusing initially, but it'll help me break out of my comfort zone and force me to play by feel rather than by visualisation of scales and patterns on the fretboard.rnPlus they have fret position markers on the top of the neck so in case you get lost,a quick glance and you're back on track.rnrnThe 2mm wider neck pocket (than the Wizard 2) also means that a Prestige neck will fit the body,should you wish to use one later.rnNice!!!rnrnBridge: ZR or Zero Resistance trem with ZPS2 or Zero Point System...this bridge is simply amazing. Holds tune like glue.rnThe zps2,consists of an extra pair of lighter springs coupled to a horizontal bar. This system allows for safe use (abuse?) of the trem, and returns the tremolo to the exact same position every time, regardless of whether it was a dive or a lift.rnrnHowever the tremolo arm becomes a little stiffer than usual with the ZPS2 engaged.rnStiff, mind you, not rough..its still as smooth as ever.Some people may even like it..I myself do.rnrnRemove the zps2 bar, and it becomes a fully floating tremolo, which can do awesome flutters..and becomes lighter to use, and is butter smooth as usual.rnrnRemoving or reinstalling the zps2 takes about 4 seconds.flip it over and disengage it.rnor flip it over and reengage it.rnrnSo you have the best of both worlds in one handy little trem.rnBy the way, you don't need a screwdriver to adjust the bridge's angle..there are no screws to adjust..just a round barrel, that you can easily manipulate with your thumb through a space in the back cover..in a matter of seconds, you're on friendly terms with your bridge.rnrnIt also comes with an intonation tool, which stays screwed into the bridge for safe storage, and makes setting the intonation extremely easy.remove the tool, intonate, then screw the tool back into the bridge for storage.rnCool right?rnrnAnd yeah, the fine tuners are "orders of magnitude" more precise than the ones the Edge 3 has.rnrnPickups: Ibanez Inf 1 (neck) and Inf 2 (bridge)rnWell, these pickups are great!!! Surprise surprise!! I wasn't expecting Ibanez pickups to be any good, especially the Inf series..rnmy RG had come equipped with Inf 3, Inf 4, and Inf s3 (middle) which weren't anything special,if not bad.rnrnBut THESE are a different story altogether..I might not even get DiMarzios later, and may just continue using these.rnrnThe bridge has plenty of bite and notes are clear and separated,with a (very?) little compression-like character which is always good.rnBass response is really good..i bumped up the bass a little on the processor..end result: MONSTER POWER CHORDS.rnHappy chugging!!!rnrnNeck pickup: More than enough..sweeping is a breeze, and I sweep a lot..its clear and articulate. Great cleans.rnThe best part is that the neck pickup's coils are also wired to be in parallel,with a simple flick of the pup switch.rnThis results in shimmering cleans, single coil sound with distortion-great for playing Malmsteen type shred.rnVery close to a Strat sound, but obviously not as shimmering as Fender's original pickups.rnBut very very close.rnrnBasically, great pickups and you don't miss the single coil at all.rnrnAs usual the volume potentiometer knob is close to the first string..typically Ibanez.rnI'll do something about that later because I have extra jumbo knuckles on my hands.rnBut then even Prestige guitars have this issue (I guess) and its an Ibanez thing, not the model itself.rnAnd its not a very big issue anyway.rnSo I'm cool with it.rnrnPickup selector is 5 way, standard stuff, and quite good..does the job.rnIts only a pickup selector..cant expect it to select pickups and cook me lunch too.rnrnThe frets are jumbo frets..and are quite good. A little rough initially,but a few hours of shredding later (I've played the shit out of it in 2 days) they're just fine.rnrnThe truss rod cover is awesome...no screwdrivers needed.just pull it sideways with your thumbnail, and it swivels open.rnPush it back in, and you're done.rnrnOverall: to be very honest,much much more than I expected..super great value for money and I'm more than happy to own one.rnrnEase of use seems to be this model's selling point, and I'm buying all that it offers and more.rnIbanez has got it right with this one.rnCheers!!!
