You'll find everything you love about the Flying V guitar in this custom Gibson model: the resonant, mahogany body and set mahogany neck, a hot EMG-85 humbucker pickup at the bridge, and an EMG-81 humbucker at neck. Big block inlays on the ebony fretboard and nickel hardware look awesome with Zakk's bullseye paintjob. The Floyd Rose tremolo supplies you a pilot's license to drop bombs of sonic mayhem on your awaiting fans.

History

From his early work with Ozzy Osbourne, to his seminal playing with Black Label Society, to his distinctive solo outings, Zakk Wylde has distinguished himself as one of the most fierce lead players in all of rock. A technique as furious and aggressive demands a guitar to match. To create the Zakk Wylde Flying V With Floyd Rose the Gibson Custom Shop has adapted this radical classic of 50 years ago into a contemporary metal machine, updated with the most essential electronics and hardware demanded by modern music.

Body and Hardware

A solid mahogany body and one-piece mahogany neck are graced with an ebony fingerboard with pearl block inlays. The classic V-shaped headstock carries Gibson’s classic Custom split-diamond inlay. While crafted for speed and fury, the Zakk Wylde Flying V With Floyd Rose naturally looks the part too wearing Zakk’s signature custom Bulls-Eye paint scheme.

Finish

Pickups are Zakk’s choice of an EMG-85 humbucker in the neck and an EMG-81 humbucker in the bridge, naturally, partnered by independent volume and tone controls for each, and a three-way selector switch mounted on the upper “horn” of the V for easy access. With black speed knobs and nickel hardware, there’s anything from subtle vibrato to extreme divebombs, a Floyd Rose vibrato tailpiece and locking nut yield smooth, easy action and outstanding return to pitch. Add it all up, and it’s a fierce assault on the senses. Each guitar comes complete with a Custom Shop case and Certificate of Authenticity.
